Situated in its own private field with stunning views across the rolling hills of Mid-Wales and Shropshire, our shepherd’s hut is the perfect hideaway for up to two people and is now available to book for an off-grid glamping experience with low impact on the environment.
It is our aim to offer our guests here the chance to leave behind the busy and complicated modern world and return to basics, close to nature and all it has to offer for a restorative and memorable countryside break.
The hut has been furnished and decorated to make it into a cosy and comfortable space to relax, rest and sleep. A deep wool mattress and wool duvets ensure a fabulous night’s sleep and with lots of cushions, pillows, bolsters and quilts, the double bed can be transformed into a luxurious reading den! The small but efficient woodburner will keep you warm and toasty inside. You will have your own composting toilet and washbasin housed in a “caban” just behind the hut.
We offer the hut on a bed & breakfast basis with a choice of either a cooked breakfast at our house (a short walk away) or a breakfast basket (continental-style) delivered to the hut. There is a basic outdoor-kitchenette in the “caban” where you can make drinks and cook light meals if you don’t want to eat out (although it would be a pity not to try some of the many wonderful places to eat in nearby Montgomery, Welshpool and Newtown).
As well as interesting places to visit locally, there is plenty of scope for walking and cycling around us, the lanes being so quiet. Alternatively, just sit on the steps of the hut and take in the views, the birds and the wildlife around. On a clear night, stargazing is a must!
£60 per night for a couple (£55 for one person), including breakfast.
